A Review of Amy Jo Johnson's Chicago Performance
The concert took place Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Elbow Room in Chicago.
In one word...excellent!
But here's the longer version.
She opened for 2 bands at the infamous Elbow Room in downtown
Chicago. She
started at 9:00 took one 15 min. break in between her two-hour
long song session.
As most of you might know she is a songwriter/singer so she
mostly did her
own stuff. She did three covers...Janis Joplin, Sarah McLachlan
and
Sweetwater (none of those are too surprising). She did do one
request from a
guy in the audience (Over the Rainbow). It was his and his wife's
anniversary and Over the Rainbow was their wedding song.
Anyway...she was great. It was all acoustic so everything was
pretty mellow.
She did play the song from the Felicity soundtrack as well. In
fact,
she did not have her own CD for sale, which was pretty surprising
to me.
She had Felicity soundtracks available though to purchase.
She signed autographs and took pictures. She was very nice to
everyone.
Seems a little modest with all of her success.
There were so many people around her and stuff that I only got to
ask two
questions. I first asked if it was her first time in Chicago and
if she was
enjoying herself. (Hey you gotta ask that) She had been here
before and she
was to be in Chicago for 2 days doing promotions and had a good
friend to
visit. She seemed pretty happy and relaxed.
I know the burning question is, did she say anything about
Felicity and
spoilers? (which was the second question I asked.) Unfortunately,
all she
said was she was getting a lot more time on screen than from the
beginning of
the season and that she is really happy with upcoming episodes
and the
direction the writers are taking her character and the other cast
characters.
She noted that the creators/writers were working on a cliffhanger
type
shocker for the season finale. But...that was all she said.
The other info. she gave was that she would have her own cd out
by the summer
and she will be having her own official website debut in about a
month.
Those seem to be her big projects besides Felicity...
And...she looked great. She had on black jeans and a cool shirt
(something
Julie would wear I think) and she was so tiny. Not just thin but
very short.
(must have been all that gymnastics)
Anyway...it was great and she was so very nice. So...just thought
I would
share.
